I am generally intersted in Environmental Science, but in these are the areas I have been working in the recent past and presently:
fields of
- Erosion and sediment yield, water quality,
hydrology
- Land degradation
- Spatial and temporal prediction of
soil properties
- Soil/land Information Systems
- Land use changes and its impact
- Intelligent Data Analysis (ABM and
Neural networks)
I will also be interested
in working on the use of environmental radionuclides as sediment tracers
and establishment of sediment budgets and quantifying sediment sources,
sinks and outputs. My M.Sc. thesis resesarch focussed on the use of model
i.e Soil and Water Assessment Tool for the assessment of impact of landuse
changes on catchment hydrology and sediment yield. And could set stage
for assessment of impact of policy changes.
Also since the begin of
February 2003 I have been working on the maintenance and further development
of the SOTER (SOil and TERrain) database for Benin, Niger and Chad which
has further renewed my interest in Soil and land information
systems. And there are ongoing research to test the possibility of enhancing
the current soil map using the DEM derived attributes and methods of spatial
prediction.
I will be very much interested
in working with anyone from any part of the world in any field of environmental science.
